Open-plan, high-ceilinged, studio-style chalet, uniquely airy and spacious. All-wood interior, with stylish vintage fabrics and furnishings, in one of the best, sunniest positions on the site. Separate shower room with sink, spacious shower cubicle and hot electric shower. No toilet in the cabin, these are in a shared block nearby. Less than 5 minutes walk to a beautiful, quiet sandy beach that stretches for miles in either direction. Dogs welcome. One king-sized bed and another double bed can be made up from the banquette seating area. Kitchen with fridge, oven and electric hob, toaster, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, and all pans, crockery, cutlery, etc. Oil-filled radiator and fan. Perfect for families or friends who don't mind sharing. CD and DVD player and a selection of CDs, DVDs, board games and puzzles. Friendly site, with lots of room for kids to play. Excellent out of season if you're looking for a peaceful retreat. No wifi in the cabin but there's a good signal here if you want to hotspot from your phone.

I've been hosting for the last 6 years and I love to see people discover this hidden gem. Guests can't believe how lovely, sandy and quiet our local beach is, especially compared with some better-known Norfolk beaches. I try to keep the cabin affordable so families can enjoy it. We don't have wifi or TV but we do have packs of cards and games and a DVD player (as well as lots of great places to visit nearby), so if you want a break from all that tech, this is the right spot for you. We've deliberately kept the chalet as an open space so you won't be cramped, and there is plenty of seating for family meals and floor space for kids to play.

Bacton beach, on the Norfolk coastal path, is quiet and sandy, and goes on for miles in either direction. It's a hidden gem, less well-known than nearby Mundesley and Happisburgh, and excellent for swimming. Bacton woods, a short drive away, is a beautiful in all seasons and excellent for dog-walking. Mundesley, with good pubs, mini golf and beach café, is about 20 minutes by car, or you can walk there along the beach in about 45 minutes. Cromer and Sheringham are bigger coastal towns, both well worth a visit; Sheringham has a theatre, and you can ride a steam train on the Poppy Line. Cromer has a pier, cinema, museums and a zoo. In Norwich, a 45 minute drive away, the Castle Museum and Cathedral are highlights, as well as the open market (with great food stalls). Then there's day boat hire on the broads at Wroxham, or Bewilderwood for a great day out with children. You can also visit the huge seal colony at Horsey (and you may well see a seal or two on Bacton beach). North Walsham is the nearest train station, and there are buses from North Walsham to Bacton. There are Sainsbury's, Waitrose and Lidl supermarkets in North Walsham, but the Bacton Super Store at the entrance to the chalet park has most essentials, as well as washing machines and dryers and a great burger van. Also in Bacton is Watson's café, and Café Carmel which is vegan and dog-friendly, as well as a fish and chip shop and Chinese takeaway. The Coast Road Chalet estate has been here since the 1930s. It's a friendly site, and great for children, with lots of open grass to play on. Outside the peak holiday season, it is very peaceful and the perfect spot to retreat and relax.
