Company info

As a farmer, farming beef, sheep, malting barley for whisky and oats for milling, I might not always be immediately available to meet you on arrival but always like to catch up with visitors at some stage during their stay.

Property info

Bayview Cottage is located on a working farm, George is the farmer and host.We are pet friendly and the house has its own dedicated dog walking field adjacent to the house.(lead required) The proximity of Dunnet Beach and Dunnet forest only a couple of minutes drive away , make Bayview a great choice for your dogs holiday! This traditional farm cottage has been recently renovated with the assisted disabled traveller in mind.Being an old stone cottage,this means corridor widths etc may be tighter than a new build property but we have fitted ramps, a roll in shower room and the outside sitting area is level with the Cottage.

Neighborhood info

The immediate area has some great attractions such as Dunnet beach and sand dune system providing great walks. Dunnet Forest also has a fantastic network of walks for all abilities. especially if the weather isn't so favourable. The cottage itself stands alone in a quiet location with its own mature garden/BBQ area and dedicated dog walking field.(lead required). Dunnet head, in theory,is a short drive away, but attractions such as Dunnet Bay Distillers, Mary Anns' Cottage, St. Johns Pool bird hide, Keith Parkes Rustic Interiors, Dunnet head tea room, a stroll down to Broch Bay may delay you seeing the Puffins at Dunnet Head. Lovely views of Orkney can bee seen here also. Many visitors take a day tour to Orkney from John O'Groats operated by John O'Groat Ferries. The cottage is situated midway between the two vehicle ferries to Orkney, both around 20-25 minutes away.
