This renovated cottage has retained many of its original features but has been refurbished to a high standard and offers all modern facilities. The cottage is in the grounds of the owner's Edwardian Manor house which is very quiet and secluded. The property is up a drive and set back from the road, close to the town centre. All local amenities, shops, leisure centre, library, restaurants, public houses are within a few minutes walk. The train station with links to Ely, Cambridge and London is a 10-15 minute walk from the house.

We bought the Beeches and the cottage due to the excellent transportation links and the style of the property - an Edwardian Manor house that had been restored. The large garden is another feature that I particularly enjoy. Downham Market is an excellent base for day trips to the coast, and to the many beautiful and historic sites around Norfolk.

We chose this area to live in as it offers excellent facilities and is close to beautiful countryside, wonderful beaches and the historic cities of Cambridge, Norwich and Kings Lynn. The train journey to Ely is 25 minutes, Cambridge 45 minutes and London 1 hour and 20 minutes. Norwich, Cambridge and Kings Lynn all have theatres, museums and an excellent choice of shops and restaurants. Within a 40 minute drive there are many National Trust and English Heritage properties. Bird watching at Welney and Titchwell local fishing in the River Great Ouse. Whatever your hobbies or interests are this area offers them all.
