Born & bred in Bonnie Scotland, hosts Karen & Alison would like to extend you a warm welcome and a “home away from home” stay at the Blue Swallow Guest House. We followed our long awaited dream by relocating to Cumbria and have had the pleasure of welcoming guests to our charming Victorian town house since October 2016. Guests can relax in their comfortable, clean rooms while enjoying some home baking with their cup of tea as well as sampling some of our home made Scottish Tablet. In the morning they can look forward to a delicious freshly cooked-to-order breakfast Ideally situated on the edge of the historic market town of Penrith, the Blue Swallow Guest House is a charming Victorian town house built in 1851. Our guest house offers 7 comfortable and well presented rooms and is within easy distance of the town centre where you will find a good selection of shops, pubs, and restaurants.

Neighborhood info

Penrith is situated just outside the Lake District National Park, located at the crossroads of the A66 and M6 (J40). Its central location within Cumbria makes it an ideal spot from which to explore the Lake District, Eden Valley, North Pennines and Hadrian’s Wall.
