It was a nice location. Very quiet. The host was very friendly and helpful. The weather was cool and rainy, and there was a fireplace that we were able to build a fire in. We had several lovely evenings by the fire. I would definitely stay here...

Brylach Steading is a beautifully restored collection of three premium self-catering cottages in the heart of Speyside, combining Highland character, contemporary comfort and warm hospitality. Originally built in 1873 as the carriage houses and stables for nearby Rothes Glen House, the historic steading has been thoughtfully restored to retain its original character while providing everything needed for a relaxing and memorable stay. Centred around an impressive courtyard and surrounded by rolling Speyside countryside, Brylach is a wonderfully peaceful place to slow down and reconnect with nature. Guests regularly enjoy spectacular sunsets and may spot some of the local wildlife from their cottage, including red squirrels, roe & red deer, red kites, buzzards, ospreys, woodpeckers and, if you're particularly lucky, one of our elusive pine martens. Whether you're escaping for a romantic break, celebrating a special occasion, exploring Speyside with friends or visiting on business, Brylach offers the privacy and freedom of self-catering with the warmth and quality of a boutique stay. Guests enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, private parking, convenient self check-in and our carefully curated local recommendations to help you experience the very best of Speyside. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome, making Brylach an ideal retreat for every member of the family.
We're Louise and Janno, and we're delighted to welcome you to Brylach Steading. As owner-hosts, we feel incredibly privileged to live in the heart of Speyside and to care for this beautiful historic property. Since becoming custodians of Brylach, we've lovingly restored and continue to invest in both the cottages and the surrounding estate, creating somewhere we'd genuinely love to stay ourselves. We love meeting guests from around the world and sharing everything that makes Speyside so special. Whether you're looking for the perfect distillery tour, a favourite local restaurant, a scenic walk, hidden wildlife spots or somewhere to enjoy a quiet dram while watching the sunset, we're always happy to share our recommendations. Our aim is simple: for every guest to leave with wonderful memories of Brylach, Speyside and a desire to return.
Speyside is one of Scotland's most beautiful and diverse destinations, renowned for its world-famous whisky, spectacular scenery, rich history and warm Highland hospitality. Brylach Steading is perfectly positioned in the heart of it all. Home to the world's greatest concentration of malt whisky distilleries, you'll find iconic names including The Macallan, Glen Grant, Aberlour and Glenfiddich just a short drive away. Beyond whisky, explore the dramatic landscapes of the Cairngorms National Park, follow the River Spey through picturesque villages, enjoy championship golf, salmon fishing, mountain biking, walking and cycling trails, watersports and the spectacular beaches of the Moray Coast. The area is rich in history and craftsmanship, from magnificent castles and the ruins of Elgin Cathedral to Scotland's only working vertical woollen mill at Johnstons of Elgin, where over 225 years of textile heritage continues today. Food lovers will discover excellent restaurants, welcoming cafés, artisan producers and farm shops, while nature enthusiasts can enjoy ancient woodlands, abundant wildlife and some of Scotland's darkest skies for unforgettable stargazing. Whether you're visiting for outdoor adventure, food and drink, wildlife, history or simply a peaceful Highland escape, Brylach Steading provides the perfect base from which to experience one of Scotland's most remarkable regions.
