Situated in the quiet, crofting township of Hungladder, North Skye, with views across the Minch towards the hills of Harris and of the Trotternish hills, Buaile nan Càrn cottage is a perfect retreat, whether it be for a week or just one night. Get away from it all here, hear nothing, enjoy the most beautiful sunsets and see the Fir Chlis (the Gaelic for the Northern Lights). The cottage accommodates 4 guests with one double bedroom and one twin bedroom. Linen and towels are provided FOC. There is a shower room and an open-plan kitchen/dining/sitting room with 3 large picture windows looking out to sea and across the fields to Rubha Hunish, the most northernly point on Skye. There is a flat screen tv, Bluetooth Steepletone radio, a selection of books and free wifi. We are approximately 20 miles from Portree, 5 miles from Uig and 16 miles from Staffin. There are a number of nice walks in the area and we are close to the Skye Museum of Island Life, Flora MacDonald's monument and Whitewave Outdoor Centre.

Kilmuir is steeped in history. If only the fields and the hills could talk, what stories they would have to tell! St. Columba, Bonnie Prince Charlie and even Lee Alexander MacQueen are all connected with this place. Find out so much more by visiting the Skye Museum of Island life! which is a 10 minute walk from our cottage. We are close to Skye's only outdoor centre - Whitewave Outdoor Centre - too.
