We had a wonderful stay in the caravan. The Connop family were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. The caravan itself is beautifully cosy, and we were provided with breakfast provisions for the duration of our stay. A special mention must go to Leo the dog, who was eagerly waiting for us every morning, ready for a game of fetch!

Portree is a great home base and within reach of many sights on the Island of Skye. Several restaurants, pubs, and coffee shops to choose from. This is not to be missed. Our first night we ate at the Lower Deck Restaurant which is one of the bright colored buildings by the harbor. Service was fast and the food was great and markedly less expensive than the Sea Breeze a few doors down. We had a couple of beers and dinner at the Isles Inn the second night - outstanding. In the morning we found The Granary for fantastic coffee, scones, and all sorts of sandwiches.

The walk-ability to everything was just right.

The walk-ability to everything was just right. The town was pretty quiet while we were there for 4 days. The shops were great and different selection of items. We ate at 2 different restaurants for four nights. Very friendly staff and great food. We were surprised how small they were and very crowded. We made sure to go at 5pm to get a table without much wait time.

Portree is a beautiful wee town.

Portree is a beautiful wee town. Great location on the Isle of Skye for getting around magnificent scenery. Great coastal walk and decent pubs plus a late opening supermarket for those self catering. Be prepared to wait to queue for food tho' if eating out - not all places take reservations!

Great base to explore Skye if it's your first time.

Great base to explore Skye if it's your first time. Definitely try MacKenzie's Bakery - they have amazing donuts! Fat Panda was okay chinese and we had ramen at the Japanese place. Parking in Portree can be challenging but we used the long term parking and always found a spot plus its very close to the city center. Cute shops but nothing really unique to the area.

Portree was a nice size town with good restaurant options.

Portree was a nice size town with good restaurant options. It is a good home base if you want to do all of the scenic routes. We ate a a great tasting menu at”Scorrybreac”. And a good seafood place called The back porch. It is easy to walk everywhere in the town.

The Portree harbour is walkable, the pod has a kitchenette but there are multiple restaurants and bars nearby and also a supermarket. From Portree you can do a lovely tour over the Isle of Skye. The pod itself had everything you may need, the bed is good and the shower warm and good wifi. The host reacted very quickly when messaged through the booking app. The check-in is selfservice, your name is on the welcoming board on the porch and the key is in the door. Very easy!

The hotel was located right next to the harbour, in the most picturesque part of Portree. The rooms were very spacious and allowed us to relax after a whole day of hiking. We were very impressed by the breakfast, which was served at the table and ordered from a menu.

The breakfast was excellent. My, that guy can cook a mean poached egg. The hotel is situated right at the heat of Portree. Minimal parking at rear of property but no problem for our motorcycle. The hotel was comfortable and clean. We were happy with our stay.

Overall, the room was clean, and the shower and toilet were perfectly fine. You can tell that the hotel is being well maintained. Still, I’m surprised that in Portree, this kind of price only gets you a hostel.
