We moved to Suffolk in 2007 after visiting for many years. Suffolk is a beautiful county: unspoilt; peaceful (we don't even have a motorway) and full of contrasts: beaches; forests and wonderful countryside. We enjoy walking, sailing, cooking and meeting new people. We have been hosting since 2009 and we love it here. We hope that you will too. Come and see for yourself. We provide maps, brochures and ideas for your stay so you can be entirely self-sufficient but we do live nearby and are always willing to help and advise if needed. A welcome pack plus basic foodstuffs such as flour, sugar, salt and spices are also provided. Beds are made up on arrival and towels are provided. Aldeburgh is an old fashioned seaside and fishing town on the beautiful Suffolk coast. With its shingle beach, local footpaths, boat trips and two golf courses nearby there is plenty to do outside. But that is not all, Aldeburgh has lots of independent shops and restaurants, concerts and theatre festivals in town and only five miles from the world-renowned Snape Maltings. Not far away you can go horse-riding, bird-watching, canoeing and visit castles, forests, museums and art galleries. We have off road parking for two cars. Bike hire available. Buses run to Aldeburgh from nearby towns and villages, and from Ipswich. The nearest railway station is Saxmundham, seven miles away for trains to London. Five miles to Sizewell. One hour from Harwich port for ferries to Hook of Holland.
