Our spacious, purpose-built group accommodation has all you need to make the most of your stay in the Elan Valley. This self-catering accommodation is both welcoming, comfortable and the sensibly designed facilities enables you to relax following a big day in the great outdoors. Cwm Clyd Bunkhouse comprises three buildings: 1. Cwm Clyd Longhouse, which is a sleeping building with 14 beds and three lockable rooms which can be booked exclusively by one group. No linen provided. This building has a log burner for heating. 2. ​Cwm Clyd Carthouse, which is a sleeping building with 6 beds and two lockable rooms which can be booked exclusively by one group. No linen provided. This building has no heating. 3. The kitchen, dining and bathroom, which is communal and is shared with other guests. You can cook your meals here, as we provide a full set of crockery, cutlery, cookware and bakeware. There are fridges, a freezer, toaster and microwave oven. There is also a easy-access room. This building is centrally heated and there is a log burner. The property is set back on a hill with an 80 metre, uphill gravel track and therefore provides peaceful seclusion. When the skies clear, the night sky sparkles with a million stars and the Milky Way can be clearly seen. Although this is an off-grid property, with a private water supply and solar/generator power, we provide Wi-Fi in the common areas. However, there is no 4G signal. Dogs are welcome.

Cwm Clyd Longhouse is situated in the heart of the Elan Valley, providing the ideal location for hiking, biking, fishing or enjoying sightseeing the dams and reservoirs. Due to the low light pollution, the Elan Valley is also an International Dark Sky Park, and so guests can enjoy the amazing night sky full of glittering stars. It is 6 miles from the Elan Valley Visitor Centre and 8 miles from Ty Penbont tearooms. The nearest town is Rhayader, where there are pubs, cafes, restaurants, a small museum and convenience stores. Grigin Farm Red Kite feeding station is 5 miles away. Aberystwyth is 40 miles away.
