Situated in the picturesque village of Shincliffe, yet within walking distance of the historic city of Durham, Dene Annex is a fantastic choice for both leisure and business trips and for visiting parents/friends of Durham University students. With a population of less than 2000, shincliffe is situated on the banks of the River Wear and the location is ideal for country and riverside walks. It boasts 3 pubs within easy walking distance, all of which serve food. Durham City, is only 2 miles

The centre of Durham is a short 5-minute drive or pleasant 20-minute walk from Dene Annexe. There is also a bus stop on the main road outside the property. Durham train station is 10-minutes away by car so nearby towns and cities can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station. There are plenty of bus routes throughout Durham. Hop on the Arriva 6 route to visit Barnard Castle or the number 22 which travels through Seaham and Sunderland.
