Gilson is a superb end-terrace cottage set on the site of the Freshwater Biological Association, one mile from the village of Far Sawrey, close to Bowness-on-Windermere. This cottage sleeps two people and has a king-size double, a shower room and an open plan living area with a kitchen, dining area and sitting area with balcony. Outside there's roadside parking for one car. Gilson is a wonderful, luxury retreat with plenty to do within this part of the Lake District National Park and in the wider area. Please note: This property have a good house keeping bond of 75 Please note: This property has a check in time of 4pm

The village of Far Sawrey has a pub/restaurant, whilst Bowness, with all its shops, restaurants and leisure facilities, is just a short distance across the lake by ferry. Also close by is ‘Hill Top’, once the home of Beatrix Potter, and Hawkshead with its picturesque 17th century cottages. Footpaths lead from the grounds to the village and Claife Heights - a noted beauty spot of forests and tarns. Watersports are close at hand on Windermere, along with Lake Cruises and the majestic Wray Castle to admire. Fishing can be enjoyed on nearby Esthwaite Water and, of course, fell walking.
