It's charm lies in its peaceful setting, traditional stone cottages, and easy access to the beautiful scenery of the North Pennines and Lake District. Whether you're exploring local walking trails, discovering historic market towns nearby, or simply enjoying the serenity. Gamblesby is the perfect base for an authentic countryside escape. Nearby, the historic Lowther Castle and Gardens, where you can explore the fascinating ruins and extensive gardens of historic estate is only thirteen miles away. Acorn Bank is another local attraction, boasting a delightful garden which is renowned for its herbs and fruit orchards and this is eight miles away from Hill Top Farm. A short drive away will take you to Penrith, a popular market town with local shops, pubs and is the perfect hub for accessing Eden Valley and Ullswater. Ullswater is England's second largest lake, and ideal for a good walk and taking in the beautiful scenery. Nearby, you can walk over to Aira Force, a 65 foot waterfall which is managed by the National Trust which is twenty miles away. It offers picturesque trails, woodland walks and viewing birdges.
