Stow is home to a number of restaurants, pubs, tearooms and shops, and every second Thursday of the month, the Farmers’ Market sets up in the market square, showcasing quality local produce. Overlooked by St Edward's Church, the picturesque market square retains its old town stocks, medieval cross and narrow alleys, or "tures", which wind their way from the surrounding streets into the square. The highest of the Cotswold towns, Stow is surrounded by breathtaking countryside, with far-reaching rural views guaranteed along any local footpath. There are buses which you will be able to access from the square to some of the surrounding villages, however we do recommend that you utilise and or hire a car to see the best of what the Cotswold's has to offer. In a car, you are 5 minutes from Upper & Lower Slaughter, 7 to 11 minutes from the village of Bourton-on-the-water and 10 to 15 minutes to Broadway and Moreton-in-marsh. Further afield destinations such as Cirencester, Cheltenham, Blenheim Palace and Oxford are within easy reach for day trips.
