We both moved to Isla Bank House after long careers in London. For us, the house represents a beautiful and relaxing environment for busy people to truly unwind and forget the stresses and strains of the usual day to day grind. We want you to feel at home when you stay with us, so we treat our guests as friends.

Property info

Isla Bank House B&B is a great place to explore NE-Scotland from. It lies in the heart of the Scottish Highlands and only a stone’s throw away from some of the world’s oldest and most revered whisky distilleries (Strathisla Distillery is across the road). Built in the late 1880s its rooms are spacious and bright offering guests a comfortable and elegant stay with garden views in all directions but only a short walk from the center of Keith village.

Neighborhood info

Keith is a historic mill-village and Isla Bank House was once the home of the mill's owner. When the wool trade slowed down the distilleries moved in and today Keith has five world-renowned distilleries including Strathisla Distillery which is located across the road from our entrance. Many local shops have not been affected much by the passage of time or the tourist trade, so they are well worth a visit. There are convenient cafes and bars within walking distance but we would recommend a short drive to several excellent restaurants in the evening. The Cairngorm Nation Park is about 20 minutes away and provides breathtaking views (even if you don't leave your car). The beaches are beyond belief here and it is possible to walk along secluded sandy beaches for hours without seeing a road or encountering more than the occasional dog walker (and yes, it does get warm enough to sunbathe sometimes). We are working on guides for our guests to help with planning days out, so let us know what you like doing in advance and we'll make sure an appropriate guide is available for you.
