Wake up to the sunrise across the surrounding countryside and enjoy amazing sea views from the garden. La Maison de Campagne is ideally situated on the west coast of the Trotternish peninsula in Kilvaxter, a traditional Gaelic speaking community steeped in history. Close to the port of Uig, Skye Island Life Museum, the spectacular Quirang, the Whitewave Centre and the Fairy Glen with Portree, the capital, a 30 minute drive away. The two bedrooms are in a self-contained apartment, exclusive to guests. Set over two floors within a croft house dated circa 1890, guests have a private entrance, kitchen/diner with sofa, upstairs sitting area, family bathroom and an ensuite bathroom. La Maison de Campagne is ideal for couples, families with kids [aged 10 and older] and anyone wanting to explore the beautiful island of Skye.
I've lived in Skye for 10 years and look forward to welcoming you to La Maison de Campagne and the beautiful island of Skye! There is a lot to explore and I am happy to give you recommendations and advice during your stay with us.
La Maison de Campagne is in a rural part of the Trotternish peninsula surrounded by croft fields and the views towards the Outer Hebridean islands of Harris and Lewis which are accessible by ferry from Uig Port. Nearby you will see sheep, cows and birds of prey. My neighbour has chickens and ducks so fresh eggs can be bought at the gate by the road. The local beach is called Camus Mor, it is an approx 30 mins walk away or short drive on a single track road through the fields. You will pass a ruined church on the way and an exhibition space. The beach is rocky and the jetty used by locals for fishing lobsters etc. There is a picnic bench with a view of the sea and the Outer Hebrides.
