This unique residence is a modern reworking of the Great Western Hotel, built in 1844 and reputed to be the oldest surviving railway hotel in the world. The hotel is conveniently located in the city center, providing easy access to all that the city has to offer, yet it has kept the original ambiance of the historic building. The building also contains a chic brasserie, sumptuous bar and meeting amenities.

We have no parking facilities on site and directly outside the hotel there are double red lines which means we do not have a drop off/pick up area for luggage. Before parking in one the recommended car parks below, the best place to park to drop off safely is the Reading Station Short Stay Car Park which is free for 20 minutes and is located opposite the hotel.

When traveling with a dog, please note that an extra charge of £25 for 1 dog or £40 for maximum 2 dogs, per night applies. Dogs are allowed in designated guest rooms-please notify the hotel in advance.

The Breakfast inclusive rates include a Full-cooked breakfast and Dinner inclusive rates includes 2 courses from our seasonal menu and a side dish . Supplements apply to certain items. Inclusions only apply for adults. Children’s Breakfast is not included in the advertised rates and the charges are as follows directly to the hotel: 0-4 years old – Breakfast Complimentary/5- 11 years old – Breakfast charged at 50% full price/ 12 and over breakfast charged at full adult price. Kids Dinner Menu also available.
