Millbank is my pride and joy: a uniquely designed holiday home in the Braes of Glenlivet, sitting right at the heart of Speyside and the Cairngorms National Park. The architecture blends the character of a Speyside whisky distillery with an Edwardian hunting lodge - there's nothing quite like it. Guests love the octagonal living room with its 360° views, the wood-burning stove beneath a glass cupola, and the feeling of being completely immersed in Highland scenery. The location is perfect whether you're here for the whisky trail (the famous Speyside distilleries are on your doorstep), outdoor adventures like hillwalking, skiing and mountain biking, a romantic retreat, or a family escape from the city. Exploring the Area? - Millbank is nestled in the historic Braes of Glenlivet on the northern edge of the Cairngorms National Park, surrounded by the scenery of the Ladder Hills and the foothills of the Cairngorm Mountains The Malt Whisky Trail is on the doorstep. World renowned names like The Glenlivet, Glenfarclas, Glenfiddich, Balvenie, Aberlour, Cardhu, The Macallan and Benromach are all within easy reach, and the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival in May draws visitors from around the world. The Glenlivet Estate provides excellent walking and mountain biking directly from the road, with waymarked trails, a ranger service, and the Glenlivet Mountain Bike Trails just along the glen. The wider Cairngorms National Park offers mountain peaks, ancient Caledonian pine forest, lochs, castles and some of the best wildlife watching in Scotland — golden eagles, red squirrels, pine martens and red deer. The Moray coast is less than an hour by car, with sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs and sheltered harbours. Grantown-on-Spey, Dufftown and Aberlour are all within comfortable driving distance for shopping, dining and exploring. The nearest shop is around seven miles away near Ballindalloch. The closest pub and restaurant are about six miles. We would recommend ordering a grocery delivery, or stocking up in one of the nearby bigger towns on your way.
