Hello and a big, hearty Yorkshire welcome to Holiday Cottages Holmfirth. We are a small family business and have lived in the beautiful and interesting village of Holmfirth for over 20 years. Our holiday cottages are all managed and maintained by ourselves and we take a great deal of pride in doing our best to ensure that our guests have everything they could possibly need and that each cottage is complete, clean and comfortable. Throw in great weather, breathtaking scenery, amazing local events and hospitality, then we are sure you will have a wonderful time here in the Holme Valley. The properties are all different. We believe that everyone has different desires and expectations: some may appreciate the numerous bookshelves filled with books and a comfortable place to chill; others prefer a bit of pampering; some guests purely need a warm and welcoming place to return to after a good day's walking or cycling. Whatever you are looking for we hope that we can accommodate you.

Millrace Cottage is a beautiful, one bedroom holiday cottage in the village of Hinchliffe Mill, just 1 mile away from the busy centre of Holmfirth. The cottage sits on the beautiful River Holme directly opposite the original millpond and stone stepped outfall. The balcony over the river gives you a great opportunity to sit quietly and watch the local wildlife which include kingfishers and brown trout. At Millrace Cottage we have tried to create a haven for couples to escape their busy lives so that when the front door is shut they can relax in comfort and peace. The bedroom has a handmade, king size four poster bed, the living area has period furniture, a great 1930's style sofa, a log burning stove and a fully equipped kitchen. The bathroom has a large bath, shower and guests can use the thick, cotton dressing gowns. All towels and bed linen are, of course, provided.

PLEASE NOTE: Restoration work has finally started on the historic mill and millpond across the river from the cottages. There maybe some minimal disruption and noise during your stay. Please accept our sincere appologies Within easy walking distance you can find the village store, local pubs, tearooms and The Vineyard.
