Hartaval is a modern eco-friendly property built to Passive House standards. Stunning views out to the Trottenish Peninsula, whatever the weather makes it a fabulous place to sit and watch the natural world go by. A spacious, detached house with open plan living, cathedral ceiling and fully-equipped modern kitchen make it a comfortable place to stay. There are 2 double bedrooms on the ground floor (both ensuite) and a snug, TV area on the first floor. A wood-burner to keep things toasty and a well-equipped utility room (washing machine, tumble dryer and dish-washer), a pantry and separate toilet complete the inside facilities. Decking with outside seating/dining area, natural pond and half an acre of garden and croft land are ideal for the nature-lover.
We've lived on Skye for the last 20 years and this is the second house we've built. Now splitting our time between Skye and a narrowboat on the English canal system, means Hartaval is available to be enjoyed by Skye visitors.
Fabulous walks available directly from the house. A 2 1/2 mile walk around the Kildonan Loop is a firm favourite whilst, for the more adventurous, a 4, 5 or 6 mile circular walk is also available - the Skye really is the limit! A coastal path to Lyndale beach and on to Lyndale Point, giving stunning views to the north (Uig and the Outer Isles) and the Cuillin to the south is within an hour's walk, right from the house. The croft land around the house is visited by Roe and Red deer most nights (and often during the day), the wild pond visited by the occasional otter and, overhead, regular sightings of sea-eagles and hen harriers along with the more usual heron, buzzard, sparrowhawks and kestrels make up just a small part of the wildlife right on the doorstep.
