Gaelic for High Tide – Sleeps 2 Muir-làn self-catering log cabin lodge is uniquely situated on the water’s edge. (For anglers – you can fish from the water’s edge and actually catch fish!) There is a hot tub on the balcony for your own private use. All the comforts of home are provided: a fully fitted integrated kitchen area with all the necessary modern appliances, including a freezer, dishwasher, microwave and Bosch coffee machine which uses tassimo coffee pods that can be purchased from amazon. In the vestibule there is a washing machine and a tumble dryer. The adjoining spacious living area is furnished to a high standard including a 50 Inch Smart TV, opens out on to a balcony which boasts breathtaking views across the loch to mounts Canisp and Suilven and the fishing boats unloading their catches at the pier across the bay. There is one Kingsize bedroom with plenty of storage space. Full bed linen is provided, comprising modern duvets & pillow cases and beds are made up for arrival. The fully tiled bathroom consists of a jacuzzi corner-bath and a separate walk-in shower. There is climate control heating .

The village and fishing port of Lochinver is a t the heart of Assynt in Sutherland – a drive of approximately two hours from Inverness. Lochinver (Loch an Inbhir in Gaelic) is a village on the coast in the Assynt district of Sutherland, Highland, Scotland. A few miles northeast is Loch Assynt which is the source of the River Inver which flows into Loch Inver at the village. There are 200 or so lochans in the area which makes the place very popular with anglers. Lochinver is dominated by the “sugar loaf” shape of Caisteal Liath, the summit peak of nearby Suilven. Lochinver is the second largest fishing port in Scotland; frequented by European fishermen primarily from Spain and France. Lochinver underwent a major renewal project in the 1990s where the harbour area was rebuilt and a new and much improved loading area was created. This new development involved blasting an area of several hectares out of the surrounding rock. At present the area is mostly undeveloped, with the exception a new Sports Centre. The back of Lochinver is a beautiful part of Assynt with local tourism and nature areas being developed in conjunction with small-scale forestry activities.
