New Hall Elland, in Halifax the Heart of the Yorkshire Pennines, is a truly unique house Over 550 years old, the mansion is a Grade 1 listed Tudor Gentry House and is one of the most unique rentals of its type in the UK We know you will fall in love with New Hall's traditional exterior & comfortable interior Perfect as a base for visiting the Dales, Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford & Leeds We invite our visitors to bring their dogs, its lovely for walks and the extensive gardens are great too We are offering the self contained East Wing of the mansion with 3 bedrooms (one en-suite with a walk in shower and rolltop bath) a large well appointed kitchen/Diner, double sided fireplace with a comfortable lounge & formal dining room, an office, downstairs "wet room" bathroom, laundry room & extensive gardens and paved areas that are private and secluded. Guest access You will have access to the sumptuous and spacious East wing house. The central "House Body" area of the house is currently being prepared for future rental and the separate West wing - number 2 New Hall - is currently occupied. The formal separation of the three elements of New Hall means you will have total privacy throughout your stay in the East wing house and also the gardens, which amount to over one acre in size. Other things to note: New Hall Elland is the perfect historic venue for visitors to Halifax and a great place to base yourself to visit surrounding areas in Yorkshire. We now offer a brand new private dining experience, with your own personal award winning chef as an add on. Please contact us about this package and its availability. There are log burning stoves in the house, these are not the main form of heating for the house, but they're a lovely addition for Spring/Autumn/Winter stays, so if you would like to use them we can provide kiln dried Alder logs for a tenner a basket. If you are planning an event, you will need to speak to the hosts first to clarify and agree.

Michael and his family have owned New Hall since 1969, renting the property out since 2022. We love this part of the UK, with its bustling Towns and Cities nestled in some of the most beautiful countryside the country has to offer. We have always loved entertaining at New Hall, it is the perfect place for that and speaking to our guests after they have stayed with us, we are always thrilled to hear how much they have fallen in love with our home and also the area. We recommend you get out and about too, there is so much that this area has to offer and in recent times we have seen Duran Duran and Nile Rodgers rocking out in Halifax's Piece Hall, eaten the finest food at the incredible Three Acres restaurant and walked off the excess in the beautiful Pennines.

We also love the shopping in our local towns and in particular in Leeds, with Harvey Nichols, The Victorian Quarter and many more boutique shops and of course, all the popular chain stores. The more adventurous may enjoy hiking in the Dales, with Malham a particular favourite. For cyclists the county of Yorkshire is well established 'mecca' for the sport and was the first stage of the Tour de France in recent years and the Tour de Yorkshire is also an Internationally recognised annual event in the cycling calendar. Off road, the MTB community will love to go shred off road and Orange bikes are also based and built in the valley, if you fancy spending a bit of that hard earned money on the latest machinery. After all that effort, you will want to relax in the evening. There are Cinemas, Theatres, amazing bars & restaurants that we can always give recommendations on, whatever the budget. You will be spoilt for choice. A trip to the fabulous Piece Hall in Halifax should be on every visitors calendar too, as well as it being the host for some brilliant bars and restaurants, it also is a spectacular venue for the likes of Elbow, Nile Rodgers, Tom Jones, Manic Street Preachers and Duran Duran in the recent past. There are loads of excellent bars and breweries in the area too, with Vocation in Halifax and Magic Rock in Huddersfield, each with their own bars and tap rooms, there are loads of excellent craft bars too, you really are spoilt for choice. Halifax is also a Television & Film hotspot, with Happy Valley, Gentleman Jack, Last Tango in Halifax and many more productions being filmed in the area. In fact, Shane Meadows' latest project was only just filming in the valley in recent months. New Hall is also listed as a filming location with Screen Yorkshire and Calderdale Council.
