The lay out was really good and the outside area was really lovely. Hot tub and tv used as there was plenty sport on (football World Cup) All rooms were spacious and inviting. Plenty room for when be booked our spa treats before our bbq.

Scandinavian wellness retreat for 10 in Brandon, near Durham. Hot tub, cold plunge, spa room, outdoor cinema and pool table. Four Nordic-themed bedrooms. Dog-friendly. Soak, stretch, switch off. 🧖 WELLNESS Space to soak, stretch, and be still. 🌿 Hot Tub (Wellis Everest, seats five) — 68 jets, microbubble therapy and a 65-inch screen under the stars. Bromine salt sanitation, so no chlorine sting. 🌿 The Himmel (spa room) — a skylit room with yoga mats, meditation cushions and warm lighting. Glass ceiling, exposed brick, space to be still. 🌿 Cold Plunge — step beneath the bucket, pull the chain, brace. A rush of cold that clears the mind and wakes every nerve. 🌿 Outdoor Shower — the grounding pause between heat and cold. 🎬 ENTERTAINMENT Evenings sorted. 🌿 Living Room — a 4K media wall for film nights in, with streaming ready to go. 🌿 Outdoor Cinema — films under the pergola, blanket optional, popcorn recommended. 🌿 Pool Table — best of three always turns into best of five. 🌿 Hot Tub TV — a 65-inch screen means the match, the film or the playlist comes with you. ☕ EVERYDAY COMFORTS 🌿 De'Longhi bean-to-cup coffee — proper coffee, no pods. 🌿 Smart home throughout — lighting and heating that just work. 🌿 Fast WiFi — for those who must. 🌿 Full kitchen and dining for the whole group. 🐾 DOG-FRIENDLY 🌿 The Hiet (The Den) — a sleeping nook with bed, blankets and fairy lights; water bowls and waste bags on arrival.
We're Denisa and Chris, and we created Nordic Spa House because we believe a holiday should leave you feeling better than when you arrived. We're a bit obsessed with the details — the right coffee, warm lighting, towels where you'd want them — and we love hearing that guests spent the whole weekend drifting between the hot tub and the cinema without checking the time. We're always on hand by message if you need anything, and we're full of local tips if you want them. Dogs get an especially warm welcome from us.
The house sits in Brandon, a quiet village on the edge of Durham City. Durham itself is around ten minutes by car — a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its magnificent Norman cathedral and castle, cobbled streets, riverside walks and plenty of independent restaurants and cafés. On the doorstep you'll find the Deerness Valley and Brandon–Bishop Auckland walking and cycling routes, ideal for dog walks straight from the door. Within easy reach are Beamish, the award-winning open air museum; Ushaw Historic House and Gardens; and the wilder landscapes of the North Pennines and Teesdale, including High Force waterfall. The Durham Heritage Coast and Newcastle are both under 40 minutes away, making the house a great base for exploring the North East.
