We moved to the Forest of Dean from London. We love the local area and all things outdoors. The holiday cottage is on our land, we live at Greenacres (next door), I live with my husband Tom, my two daughters and our dog Ozzy. We live next door and will always try to pop over and say hello, but a key is accessible from safe. The garden overlooks part of our garden so you may see us from time to time but we are mindful to respect the privacy of our guests. Welcome to Oak Tree Cottage, a lovely cottage surrounded by picturesque countryside and offering easy access to beautiful walks right from your doorstep. It's the perfect spot for a walking holiday, with the Gloucestershire Way and Offas Dyke within walking distance. From the cottage, you can enjoy stunning views of the River Severn. We offer private off-street parking for your convenience. While the local pubs are just a short 10-minute drive away, we highly recommend taking a long but pleasant countryside walk to get there. St Briavels, Chepstow and Lydney are just a short drive away. Lydney is the nearest train station, but we suggest travelling by car due to the remote location of the cottage. The lane leading to the cottage is very quiet and accessible by most vehicles. If you're coming from the A48 up Parkhill, you may need to turn around further up the road as the turn into Parkhill Common is tight and slightly back on itself. If you do need to turn around, we kindly ask that you be respectful and not use the private drives of other houses up the hill as they understandably do not appreciate this. There are areas to turn further up, so don't worry!
