Newly renovated former blacksmith’s in the seaside village of New Quay, Efail Fach Cottage is on the Ceredigion coast. In the Garden there are steps that lead up to an elevated patio with sea views of the bay, where you can relax and dine on the garden table and chairs and watch the sun go down or rise in the morning.

We have a shared passion for property, interiors and great holiday locations. What better way to combine all of these things than by creating a wonderful and welcoming holiday home. Having searched for over 12 months to find the right property, and after endless viewings and lots of research, we stumbled across Oyster Cottage now known as Efail Fach its original name meaning small forge. We knew immediately that it was exactly what we had been searching for and both had butterflies when viewing it for the very first time. We absolutely fell in love with the quaintness of it, the lovely sea views and its nautical feel. It's in the centre of New Quay too which was the icing on the cake! We have now finished making changes to the Cottage to make it more energy efficient and although its was beautiful before, we wanted to indulge our interest and gorgeous interiors, and we hope you enjoy the finished article! We are excited to host our future guests and to make their stays very special.

There are three beaches in New Quay, all within a few minutes’ walk from the cottage. Our favourite coastal walk is New Quay to Aberaeron, stopping off at Y Selar and getting the bus home! There is also a lovely walk to Cymtydu and the Coastal Path very close by. The Blue Bell and The Pepper Pot are favourites of ours in New Quay. We love Stubborn Duckling, Y Selar, The Harbour Master and Hive in Aberaeron just a 20-minute drive away along the coast road. Further afield we also love Crwst (it’s a must) and Pizza Tipi both in Cardigan. They all have websites. There is a lovely butchers and fishmongers in New Quay town supplying fresh produce including homemade cakes! Also, a little favourite that is open in high season is DELIcious who provide locally sourced delicious meals, coffee, wine, local veg and artisan products.
