Penzance is the ideal location from which to discover the many attractions of West Cornwall, ranging from the many beautiful beaches found in small secluded coves and wide expanses of shoreline to the rich heritage of ancient monuments and historic attractions. Ancient fishing villages, cliff top walks, sub-tropical gardens and an abundance of industrial and maritime heritage make Penwith a uniquely fascinating area. By far the most striking feature of Mounts Bay has to be St Michael’s Mount, accessible by foot at low tide via a causeway. The Minack Theatre is also impressive, carved out of the granite cliffs, offering shows all summer long. Other must see attractions include the art deco Jubilee Pool, Lands End experience, Geevor Tin Mine, the Tate art gallery in St Ives, Paradise Park bird sanctuary in Hayle, and the national Seal sanctuary at Gweek.
