Plas Esgair is a Grade II listed Georgian mansion in an idyllic location on the outskirts of Llanbrynmair in the heart of mid Wales. Set in 6 acres of garden, woodland and paddock, every room has views of the surrounding Cambrian Mountains and foothills or a view of the gardens. Plas Esgair is a grand country house and home where we happen to do bed and breakfast along with serving home made freshly cooked evening meals, rather than being a dedicated ‘guest house’. Our bedrooms are all individual, decorated using designer wall papers and specialist paint finishes, furnished with antiques and many feature original works of art. House guests are welcome to enjoy the gardens and our woodland which contain many specimen trees, some as old as 1000 years of age. 'Plas Esgair' literally translates to 'Long Ridge Hall' (in English PLAS, a hall or mansion; ESGAIR, a long ridge) Cadw records show Plas Esgair was first built in 1780 and then enlarged between 1820 and 1830 when the verandah added although the date 1755 is carved into the stonework so it was probably first built slightly earlier.
