Self-catering holiday cottage for two people close to the Suffolk coast, with extraordinary views of a stunning estuary, and accommodation offering comfort and style. River View is available for short breaks (minimum 2 nights) and weekly lets.
Completely refurbished in 2022, River View sits on the banks of the River Alde at Iken Cliff, near Aldeburgh, one mile down stream of the renowned Snape Maltings concert hall, café, shops and pub, and in the middle of the Suffolk Heritage coastal area.
River View is a self-contained cottage for two people only, the floor layout includes an entrance hall, living room and kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms (one double bedroom and a twin bedroom). All beds in both rooms will be made up for your stay.
Kate is an experienced host who has operated holiday accommodation since 2003, and she looks forward to welcoming you at River View or at her other property, River Cottage.
River View overlooks the Alde & Ore estuary as it winds its way in from the Suffolk coast and on up to Snape Maltings - a world renowned centre for music and culture (a beautiful 20-minute walk by footpath).
Bird life is in abundance including osprey and avocet, and a multitude of other waders, while common seals can be seen on the mudbanks when the tide falls, or swimming in the river channel. All can be seen from River View.
Bird watching is also a feature at the RSPB reserve at Minsmere – a half hour drive away, and close by is the delightful village of Orford. The seaside town of Aldeburgh is a 15 minute drive, while Thorpeness, Woodbridge and Southwold are within easy reach, not forgetting the pretty villages of Walberswick and Dunwich. In an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, River View really does offer a unique location for a short stay, or weekly let, in a wonderful part of the country.
