Riverside is an absolutely charming Lake District cottage set in the north Lakes village of Caldbeck. With classic country cottage looks set behind a babbling beck and weeping willow, Riverside has just enjoyed a complete refurbishment to bring modern comforts. There's a logburner in the cosy lounge and a nicely proportioned kitchen / dining area on the ground floor and two peaceful bedrooms upstairs along with a great, fully-tiled bathroom featuring a walk-in shower. Outside, there is a bench to the front from where you can hear the gentle sounds of the beck. Perfect for two couples. Caldbeck has got all the features you could want in a English village - an excellent pub with a beer garden, a village shop, picturesque church, and a cafe set in an old watermill.

Caldbeck is set at a mid-point between the northern fells of Skiddaw and Blencathra, the Solway Coast, Carlisle, and Penrith. Caldbeck village is nicely self-sufficient and is blessed with a great pub, village shop, and a crafts centre with cafe. Handsome 18th century cottages are strung along the village roads, and the surrounding countryside is all rolling, partly wooded hills, with public footpaths aplenty. A favourite walk from the village is to 'The Howk' which is a limestone gorge, complete with waterfall set in deep woodland. There are many footpaths in the area and the famous Cumbria Way passes through the village. For when the weather is not so great, a day in historic Carlisle or Hutton in the Forest is recommended. For those aiming for the high fells, Caldbeck is on the northern side of Blencathra and Skiddaw. Despite the quiet rural atmosphere, Caldbeck is easily accessed from the M6 - around 20 minutes from Junction 41 of the M6. Other easily reached locations include: Bassenthwaite Lake (20 minutes) Carlisle (25 minutes) Penrith (25 minutes) Keswick (30 minutes) Pooley Bridge (30 minutes) Solway Coast at Silloth (30 minutes)
