" Weir Run" is situated in the beautiful Tamar Valley on the Devon / Cornwall border. This secluded property boasts magnificent views of the River Tamar. The property has two en-suite bedrooms to rent, both with double beds, 100% Egyptian Cotton linens , small refrigerator, tea /coffee facilities.. Riverside View: sleeps 2 adults and has its own private balcony overlooking the river and weir. Hillside: overlooks the fields and valley and can sleep up to 3 persons. Guests have the use of their own private TV/Snug for relaxing, which includes a sofa bed and en-suite bathroom, with coffee/tea set up, microwave, and toaster. Refrigerator/freezer for guest use in garage. Full English breakfast is included. Guests also have use of their own private terrace which overlooks the river where a BBQ and fire bowl are provided for their use. Use of laundry facilities with washer and dryer available. WHILE DOGS ARE NOT PERMITTED INDOORS , THEY MAY BE ACCOMMODATED IN THE GARAGE WHICH IS DIRECTLY ACCESSED FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE. VEHICLES AND THEIR CONTENTS ARE LEFT AT OWNERS RISK , WE DO NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILTY FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE TO VEHICLES OR THEIR CONTENTS.

Dear Guests . Richard and I retired to Gunnislake in 2014 and renovated his family's house after his father passed away. Richard was in the hospitality business for most of his working life and we have been fortunate enough to have lived in various islands in the Caribbean but have spent the last 20 years in the USA in New York , and Virginia . As empty nesters living in this gorgeous location we look forward to welcoming you to this special place. We will do everything in our power to make your stay with us memorable. We prefer to keep a low profile so that our guests can enjoy their private times and to feel free to come and go as they please ,but we will always be on hand to see to the requests and comfort of our guests.

The wildlife -spotting opportunities all around the Tamar valley are vast. There are an abundance of trails and hikes to choose from close to our house , some of which take you through the mining history of this area . We are in close proximity to Dartmoor where you can either walk the moors or you can view this magnificent scenery from Horseback. We are conveniently located to visit North or South Cornwall beaches. Just down the road from us is the famous Morwellham Quay and Cotehele House. Plymouth is 40 minutes away where you can enjoy the historic Barbican district and visit the Mayflower museum and Plymouth Hoe. You can quite easily catch the train from Gunnislake to Plymouth and enjoy the views of the Tamar valley . Only 4 miles away is the famous Stannary town of Tavistock where Sir Francis Drake was born (his house Buckland Abbey is also close by). Enjoy the Pannier market and shopping/dining in this historic town. Canoeing and boat trips are available from Calstock which is 2 miles away. The Tamar Trails centre is only one mile away and offers a wide selection of enjoyable activities such as ,archery , tree Surfing, biking, hiking, & canoeing.
