Welcome to Rose Cottage Cardurnock near Bowness on Solway self catering on Solway, our cottage is a lovely getaway far from noise and light pollution set in a hamlet called Cardurnock, pronounced 'Cardurnuk' on a peninsula opposite the Scottish coast. Rose Cottage sleeps two and is (small) dog friendly, it is well equipped and has a large garden that is surrounded by fields to the sides and rear. There are some walks from Rose Cottage onto the shore around the corner and at Anthorn or down the lanes (lonnings) and there are many RSPB nature reserves locally indeed many visitors come to the area for bird watching. Important - The property has really poor wifi at the moment, so have a break from digital life (Iplayer etc won't load). We suggest you download your spotify music and stream through our bluetooth speaker, or watch DVD's.

Say hello to the Exmoor ponies at Drumburgh nature reserve and then have a picnic in the hide. Be amazed by the dragon flies, butterflies and lizards at the nearby Bowness Common RSPB sites. You'll pass the WW2 hangers built for aircraft repair at Kirkbride and the NATO listening station at Anthorn. Sit in Rose Cottage's garden and have a day off. Enjoy a Solway sunset.
