Old Rectory Cottages Flixton
An award-winning spacious single storey cottage just for two based on the Suffolk/Norfolk border. Formed by the clever conversion of the stable block, and set in the grounds of a Victorian Rectory, it offers an impressive outlook over The Old Rectory’s orchard and the surrounding unspoilt countryside. The tranquil surroundings offer an ideal base to “recharge your batteries”.
The Old Rectory was built in 1872 and has 7 acres of grounds, which in turn is surrounded by farmland on three sides,-the grounds are a haven for wildlife. The cottage provides the ideal holiday location if you want to leave behind the strains of town or city living and relax in the tranquil surroundings of a Victorian rectory amidst rolling unspoiled Suffolk countryside-It offers tranquil surroundings for a break that can be as active as you want with country or coastal walks or just relaxing. A very special place to stay -and we want it to remain that way. We are here during your stay in the event that you wish to contact us. We have a good knowledge of the local area which enables us to recommend places or events that many visitors to the area do not get the opportunity to experience and our philosophy is to go the “extra mile” to ensure you have a really enjoyable holiday! We have a pub, an aircraft museum & a brewery within walking distance
Directions from the A11 Leave the A11 above Newmarket and take the A14 (signposted Bury St Edmunds), continue on the A14 until you reach Bury St Edmunds, taking the A143 (signposted Yarmouth). Follow this road for approximately 33 miles. You will come to a right hand turning signposted for Flixton and Homersfield – the B1062, turn into this road and continue straight on for approximately 2 miles until you enter Flixton. At the sweeping bend take the first turning right in to Church Road (if you see the Flixton Buck on your left you have gone too far!). Pass the village hall on your right. Just after the hall, take the road that leads off to the left, signposted St Peter’s brewery. After passing the church on the left, the Old Rectory is approximately 200 metres on the same side of the road. There is a sign. The Old Rectory is accessed via an unmade track- the turning into the track is quite sharp. Proceed to the top of the track and the Old Rectory is straight ahead of you. Directions from the A12 Leave the A12 when it is signed for the A14, continue on the A14 (towards Needham Market) for 8 miles, and then join the A140 (towards Diss), after 16 miles, you should turn onto the A143 (signposted Yarmouth).
