It is a short drive to Portree where you can find a selection of cafe's restaurants and shops. In the other direction is Dunvegan roughly a 16 mile drive where you can visit Dunvegan castle and gardens. Uig is also a short drive away where the Calmac ferry terminal is located for ferry connections to the Outer Isles.
