Beautiful conversion, super sized property, easy to find, right in town, every little detail thought out. There was only x2 of us, but it is plenty big enough for a family if upto 6. I would definitely stay again.

St Edmunds Brewery, a Grade II listed building, offers a unique holiday let experience in the historic old town conservation area of Downham Market. St Edmunds Brewery was built in 1868 and beer was brewed here until 1946. In 1961 it was converted into Sherwoods Motorcycles and traded until the late 80's. It then became a gym and then a beauty salon until 2022, when we bought it for residential conversion. We have tried to keep a rustic appearance by using reclaimed timber throughout, handmade beds and tables, old barrels etc. which all add to the charm and coziness. The whole ground floor is a large open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge with rustic lighting, comfy chairs and sofas, and a large smart TV. The three large triple glazed windows look out onto Paradise Road which is fairly quiet and has a 20mph speed limit. All three windows have mirror film so people cannot see in. Tea, coffee, sugar and hopefully milk, if we remember, is supplied for your first few cuppas to help you get settled in, and we may even leave something alcoholic. There is a large selection of board games should you wish to play. Upstairs has two large king size bedrooms and one single room all with colourful art. The double rooms have wardrobes and a dressing table, whereas the single room just has a dresser. All bed linen is obviously provided. The blue bathroom has an 'L' shape bath with shower over, basin and toilet, and the green bathroom has a shower cubicle, basin and toilet. Towels and hand soap are included. Unfortunately there is no parking next to the property but two free safe carparks are within one minute walk. We can possibly cater for motorcycles and cycles though, in our CCTV covered gated courtyard behind.
My name is Ady and my partner is Kaz, we've lived next door where the brewery owners used to live for almost 30 years, but St Edmunds Brewery is totally self contained so it's completely private. This is our first time owning a holiday let so please be gentle, and we look forward to welcoming visitors to our lovely little gingerbread town.
DOWNHAM IS A SMALL MARKET TOWN SURROUNDED BY COUNTRYSIDE AND AGRICULTURE. LOCATED ALONG PARADISE ROAD, WE ARE LESS THAN TWO MINUTES WALK INTO THE CENTRE WHERE THE SMALL MARKET (FRI & SAT),  SHOPS, RESTAURANTS, TAKEAWAYS AND PUBS ARE LOCATED. DOWNHAM CURRENTLY HAS 3 PUBS, THE WHALEBONE, THE CROWN AND THE LIVVY, ALL OFFER DIFFERENT AMBIENCES. WE HAVE SEVERAL QUALITY RESTAURANTS IN TOWN ALL SERVING DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES PHANSA THAI IS IN OUR OPINION THE BEST THAI RESTAURANT YOU'LL EVER FIND AND IS OUR GO TO.  DOWNHAM TANDOORI IS THE LONGEST SERVING INDIAN AND AGAIN IN OUR OPINION BEST INDIAN RESTAURANT IN THE AREA.  GIARDINI DI NAXOS SERVES A LOVELY ITALIAN AND MEDITERRANEAN MENU ALLIUM BISTRO AND RESTAURANT SERVES TRADITIONAL RESTAURANT DISHES THE CAVE IS THE PLACE TO GO IF YOU WANT TRADITIONAL TURKISH FOOD ALL OF THE ABOVE ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, VERY FRIENDLY AND BOOKING FOR WEEKENDS IS ESSENTIAL WE ALSO HAVE THE USUAL SELECTION OF TAKEAWAYS. OBVIOUSLY YOU'LL WANT TO HAVE A WANDER AND EXPLORE AROUND TOWN FIRST, PERHAPS VISIT THE HERITAGE CENTRE AND DO ONE OF THEIR WALKS, BUT AFTER THAT THERE'S LOADS MORE TO DO. DENVER SLUICE IS 3 MILES SOUTH AND IS THE KEY TO FLOOD PREVENTION IN THE AREA, IT'S QUITE AN INTIT'S QUITE AN INTERESTING AREA AND YOU CAN WALK ALONG THE RIVERS LOOKING AT THE BOATS AND WILDLIFE. ALSO A GOOD PLACE FOR FISHING. THE ROYAL SANDRINGHAM ESTATE IS 25 MINS AWAY. ELY IS 20MINS BY TRAIN SOUTH, CAMBRIDGE 45MINS AND LONDON 90MINS. KINGS LYNN IS 15MINS BY TRAIN NORTH. THE NORTH NORFOLK COAST STARTING AT HUNSTANTON IS 40MINS DRIVE, AND THEN EXPLORE THE LOVELY TOWNS RIGHT ROUND TO WELLS BY THE SEA. NORWICH IS A 45MIN DRIVE AND THEN YOU CAN GO ON AND VISIT THE NORFOLK BROADS. RAF MARHAM IS A 15MIN DRIVE AND USAF MILDENHALL AND LAKENHEATH ARE SLIGHTLY FURTHER. THERE'S LOADS TO SEE AND DO IN THE AREA.
