Oulton Broad is the picturesque village part of Lowestoft that attaches the River Waveney to the Southern part of the Norfolk Broads National Park. Swan View is the only apartment above the old Ivy Farm Dairy so you get fantastic views and immediate access to the amenities of Oulton Broad with its pubs and restaurants, day trips, boat hire, and walks. Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve is a short walk away - perfect for the dog or twitcher. The superb Lowestoft South Beach is two miles away. Great Yarmouth 8 miles, Norwich 30 minutes by car, North Norfolk just over an hour, Southwold 20 minutes to the south, and the Suffolk Heritage Coast a little beyond that. Several great local pubs, cafes, takeaways and restaurants are within a short walk of the front door and there are hundreds more if you drive or take the train from one of the two stations in the village. While it is generally quiet and relaxing, being right in the heart of a leisure area, it can get busy and noisy at times. You will see in our ratings that Swan View is generally a peaceful escape in an idyllic tourist area, however, in season, the nearby pubs are open late on weekends sometimes playing live music, and festivals/events are held throughout the year in the park. This is a fantastic central base to explore the whole Norfolk and Suffolk coastline plus Norwich and inland. Oulton Broad has two train stations (North to Norwich, and South to Ipswich) which are within walking distance, the main A12 arterial runs 200m from Swan View, buses are regular too.
