Tanar View is a bright and welcoming self catering apartment in a peaceful setting with uninterrupted views over Glen Tanar estate in Royal Deeside, Scotland yet only a five minute drive from the charming town of Aboyne, Aberdeenshire – voted one of the top ten places to live in the UK (The Times 2018). It's a perfect space for two or a cosy family spot. You can dine alfresco on the upper deck with views to the hills of Glen Tanar or relax in the hot tub on the lower deck while watching the Highland cows that are often here. We have a firepit for enjoying a dram under the stars too. Located in the grounds of the original lumber mill to Glen Tanar estate, the south facing apartment sleeps four people accommodated in one double bedroom and one room with adult sized bunk beds. We can also provide a travel cot for babies. Please note the bedrooms have sloped ceilings which can prove challenging for taller people! There is a modern shower room with Scottish Fine Soaps toiletries provided. The light and spacious living area is open plan with comfortable sofas in front of a log burning stove, a large dining table and a fully equipped kitchen. The apartment also has a 19” flat screen SmartTV with Freesat plus DVDs and CDs to choose from. Free Wifi is also available.

We love our life in Aberdeenshire as we relish the rural idyll and the plethora of walks that we can do from our doorstep along with our beloved German Shorthaired Pointer, Dita. Fly fishing is also one of Neil’s passions and we are located a stone's throw from the river Dee - famous for its salmon fishing. We enjoy helping our guests to explore all that this magnificent part of Scotland has to offer from castles to whisky distilleries and, of course, Balmoral. Tanar View is situated in the grounds of the restored Dalwhing Mill House on the doorstep of Glen Tanar estate in Aberdeenshire and the Cairngorms National Park. It is ideally located for fishing on the river Dee ), exploring Deeside with its castles and distilleries or ski-ing, walking and biking in the Cairngorm mountains. We are two miles from the Glen Tanar ballroom if you are attending a wedding and just over the river from the Aboyne Gliding Club.
