The cottage is in the famous and loved coastal suburb of Broughty Ferry, (voted 2021 by the Times newspaper as one of the best places to live) and is close to the city of Dundee with its famous V&A and many other tourist attractions. In the village there is a good selection of pubs, restaurants, and shops within walking distance. The thriving main streets also boasts lots of small independent stores, galleries, etc. Down near the seashore, the striking Broughty Castle is well worth a visit. Dating back to 1490 when it was built to protect the Tay estuary, it now houses a wonderful quaint museum which explains the history of this pretty fishing village. The famous golf courses at Carnoustie and St Andrews are close by and there are other excellent courses locally for avid golfers to test their links game. The beautiful sandy beach nearby provides a haven for wildlife and a visit to Broughty ferry rock gardens is a must. Families love the excellent children’s playpark at Castle Green and there are lots of local coastal cycle paths too. With many e-bike sharing stations.
