Hi all,here at The Anchorage we pride ourselves on giving the very best of a warm welcome to all of our guests along with a very often needed cup of tea or coffee on arrival in our large open plan guest lounge,which over looks The Pentland Firth towards The Orkney Islands.We are flexible with arrival and departure times, if you cannot make the time slots,please just let us know and we can normally accommodate.If you maybe prefer something a little different from the usual cooked breakfast, we offer various alternatives such as smoked salmon,smoked makerel,omelettes and various hams,meats and cheeses along with a varied selection of breads.Please note we do not generally do evening meals unless on one of our special dinner bed and breakfast Packages. Both myself and my husband have lived all over the UK and 30 years ago settled here in John o Groats due to its unique and beautiful surroundings and fantastic local people. We hope you enjoy the area and find it relaxing and "away" from the hectic life which we often lead.Thank you Gail and Dave.

The area of Caithness has loads of things to see and do.If you enjoy walking then you will not be disappointed with the many walks away from traffic available from here at The Anchorage.However if you prefer a casual drive about the roads are slow and quiet enabling you to do some sight seeing.We are only a 10 minute walk( no traffic) from a small beautiful beach.There are various breeding birds including Puffins at The Stacks of Duncansby only 1.5 k from here.The Castle of Mey is open throughout the summer and there is a great little museam in the town of Wick celebrating the hard times when Wick was a herring port.There are various castles to visit and beaches of outstanding beauty. Less than a 5 minute drive is the Seaview Hotel which provides meals all day until approx 8.30pm,7 days a week.John o groats itself has a few cafes and small gift shops and of course the famous JOG sign post to take your photograph.The area prides itself as being a very safe and friendly place,a place to unwind and relax and take in the fresh clear Caithness air.Thank you and hope to see you in the future.Cheers Gail and Dave.
