The Cwtch Cilcain has formerly been a store, joiner’s workshop and village shop. Recently renovated to a high standard, this quirky cottage is now ready to welcome guests wishing to stay in the heart of the Clwydian Range. You can walk up to Moel Famau straight from your front door, and the pub is 50m away. You’ll find all the comforts of home, including underfloor heating, kitchen and luxurious bathroom, two unique double bedrooms and a generous living/dining area with a cosy wood-burning stove. Outside, you are welcome to sit and relax in your very own courtyard garden and BBQ.
A young family who made the big jump to move to the country side and who haven’t looked back since. We enjoy going on walks around the village and discovering new routes with our dog Nelly. We are on hand if you need anything during your stay, or if you prefer, we will leave you to enjoy your visit in peace!
The Cwtch is conveniently located in the centre of the historic village of Cilcain, which boasts a sixteenth century pub, a community shop/cafe and a Norman church. Explore the country lanes and paths on foot or bike, visit the iconic Moel Famau and Loggerheads Country Park and enjoy delicious food and drink in the local pubs and cafes. Cilcain is ideally located just over the Welsh/English border, 30 minutes from the Roman city of Chester and only an hour from Liverpool and Manchester airports. Nearby market towns include Mold, Denbigh and Ruthin, and there are numerous historic and cultural attractions all within an hour’s drive including castles, mountains, waterfalls, adventure sports and more.
