Hi, I’m Claire your host at The Estate Oakenshaw. These spaces are the result of a long-held dream to create a retreat that blends natural beauty with comfort, simplicity, and thoughtful design. The farmhouse was originally built in 1852 with 2ft thick stone walls, has been completely refurbished, it has wooden beams & original features & huge open fireplace. The Log Cabin was built from 100 year old Scandinavian pine logs is a more recent addition and was inspired by a love for the outdoors and handcrafted living, the cabin was built with care and attention to detail, using quality materials & a lot of heart. The log cabin features a log burner, games machine, a retractable 83" TV and underfloor heating.
What matters most to me is that every guest feels welcome, relaxed, and able to truly switch off from the noise of everyday life. Whether you're here for a romantic escape, family time, our goal is to make your stay as smooth and memorable as possible from the warm welcome to the little touches you’ll find throughout the cabin.
I deeply respect your privacy and space, but I’m always nearby and just a message away if you need anything local recommendations, or ideas for exploring the area’s hidden gems. I also prepare the accommodations for every stay to ensure it’s spotless, cosy, and ready for you to unwind the moment you arrive.
It’s a privilege to share this special place with others, and I’m genuinely grateful to every guest who chooses to stay. I hope The Estate brings you the same sense of peace and connection that it brings me.
Looking forward to welcoming you soon!
