We have 2 holiday homes hidden away in the heart of Southrepps. The Hamlet and Southrepps BarnHam. Both are unique, they are holiday homes NOT holiday accommodation. Wi-fi is free and well behaved dogs are welcome The Hamlet has 2 bedrooms with king size beds and bathrooms with showers next door. One has a Jacuzzi bath. There is also a glass fronted and ceilinged room which contains a double futon for additional guests. Please note that this room is not overlooked and there are no curtains... ideal for star gazing! All bedding and towels are provided. The well equipped large vaulted kitchen has an Aga, stone floors and a farmhouse dining table. The lounge also has a vaulted ceiling . It is cosy and spacious with an Aga wood burner. The 3 principal rooms have French Doors leading to the large high walled courtyard. A Weber gas barbecue, picnic table and steamer chairs are provided in addition to a king-size Jacuzzi hot tub (generous gowns are provided). The courtyard is private, quiet, peaceful and secure. Outside the gates there is additional free off road parking.
Hello! It’s been 12 years since I gave up a proper job and moved to North Norfolk with my wife Pam....funnily enough several of my repeat guests are planning on doing the same thing! Having sworn that we would never take on another renovation project we ended up with 3 derelict properties in Southrepps. We lived with our daughter while we rebuilt The Hamlet, moved in and started working on Ham House which was built in 1640 as a Yeoman’s house and taken on many guises since....last century it was the New Inn (one of three pubs at the village cross roads). It was then decided that it was too large so we decided to rebuild the third building (the old village hall) as our home. We had to follow the theme and called it Southrepps BarnHam...there is a video on line. The next decision was that we would stay in Ham House! Running 2 Holiday Lets was never our plan but we have found it stimulating versus retiring. I greatly enjoy meeting new guests and welcoming back many “old friends”. Our intent is to offer an unusually high level of holiday home accommodation and we would ask that any shortfalls are identified as soon as possible to enable them to be addressed.
Southrepps is a rustic flinty Village with very friendly inhabitants, village shop, a PO and a great village pub, The Vernon Arms, which delivers great food. The nationally famous Gunton Arms (and railway station) is nearby. All are wheelchair and dog friendly. The Hamlet is 2.5 miles from the coast, 15 minutes drive in three directions from the lovely sandy beaches of Cromer, Overstrand and Mundesley. It is also just 20 minutes from the Norfolk Broads and the NT Felbrigg and Blickling Halls. Google will show you a plethora of children’s activities and there is a large recreation ground and very well equipped children’s area close by. Golf at Sheringham, Cromer and Mundesley, Tennis in Cromer, Squash and 10 pin in North Walsham and Fishing in Roughton (all 10 minutes away). Waitrose, Morrison and Lidl stores are also 10 minutes away. Seafood is readably available, relatively new are No1 Fish Restaurant (owned by Galton Blackistone) and Rocky Bottom (owned by Crab and lobster fishermen), Takeaways are available. Most popular outing for all ages (and dogs!) is to take an open boat to see seals CLOSE UP! Or you may choose to hide away in The Hamlet in the heart of Southrepps.
