Is staying at a Lighthouse Cottage on your Bucket List? Or do you just need a relaxing escape from city life? Or family adventures with the kids? The Lighthouse Keeper’s cottage is a light and cosy family home, set on a headland with sea on three sides – you can even see a ruined castle out of the kitchen window! Inside you will find everything you need for a relaxing stay, and unique touches like pictures and soft furnishings by local artists, and books about the lighthouses, and about the wildlife you can find in the area. WHAT YOU’LL FIND HERE The Lighthouse Keeper’s Cottage was home to the Principal Lighthouse Keeper and his family, so it is a comfortable family home for up to six people, sleeping in three bedrooms. Dogs are welcome too. You'll have the whole cottage to yourself, and we also live on site (along with our cat and two dogs) so if you have any questions, we can help you straight away. INSIDE THE COTTAGE - THE WIFI runs between 7Mb to 20Mb – so it’s fine for Zoom calls or streaming movies to our Smart TV. (We are very rural, so wifi is not guaranteed but so far it’s always been fine). - THE FAMILY / DINING ROOM has a big table perfect for eating together, playing board games, or sorting through photos on your laptop. - THE LIVING ROOM has comfy seating for everyone, a Smart TV, and a selection of family-favourite DVDs. - OUR WELL-EQUIPPED KITCHEN is perfect for preparing family meals, and has a washer and dryer as well as a dishwasher. - THE BATHROOM has a large shower walk-in shower, and of course a toilet & sink. - OUR THREE BEDROOMS each sleep two people, & we can provide a travel cot if you need one. OUTSIDE – AS WELL AS OUR CLIFFTOP VIEWS OF THE SEA ON THREE SIDES…. There is off-road parking outside the cottage for two cars. We have a paved patio area, where you can sit in good weather. And remember, everyone loves a lighthouse! In good weather, walkers may come up to the compound

I fell in love with the Lighthouse & then with Caithness, when I first came here in 2017. I wanted to help others discover this unique place, build happy family memories, and make a real contribution to the community and people who live here. I live next door with my husband, our Newfoundland dog, our Golden Retriever, and our wee black cat, so I am here if you need me. But I know you may have come for the solitude, so I will leave you to enjoy this place in peace.

CAITHNESS IS ONE OF SCOTLAND'S HIDDEN GEMS - There's John o'Groats of course, but you'll love the walks and views, with the chance to walk to deserted ruined castles, take the dog for a run on our huge open beaches, and take the kids to visit reindeer or learn body boarding. And it wouldn't be Scotland if we didn't have half a dozen distilleries with tastings and tours.
