It had a beautiful ire from porch chairs. The inside was spotless and everything we needed! The host was very engaging about the surroundings and the “hut!” Loved it! Thank you!

My 4th stay. Love it, perfect for an overnight stop over as easy access to Carlisle, penrith, m6 and west coast. Lovely view across open farm fields when you sit out on the decking.

I stay here often when travelling south, visiting parents. I'll continue to use these facilities when its available for me. Which fortunately has been every time I've travelled south to Hexham/Oxton.

I was delighted that the property was available again for me! I travel frequently between Nairn and Hexham with my work. I am grateful I can stop for the night here.

I have used the mad hatters hut before so I was delighted to find it was available for a last minute journey for work meetings. Last time I slept with the door wide open as it was so hot. The wind and rain prevented that this time round!

The Mad Hatter's Hut is a unique bespoke Shepherd's Hut overlooking the hills of the Lake District and surrounded by fields of the Eden countryside. Only 3.5 miles from junction 42 of the M6. The Hut is themed with Alice in Wonderland, including many quirky fixtures and fittings. A perfect holiday destination with Pooley Bridge and the stunning Lowther Castle only half an hour away. Relax at the hut after a day's touring and enjoy the beautiful sunset. Only ten minutes to Carlisle and fifteen minutes to Penrith. Countryside and shops on your doorstep. There is a beautiful listed lime tree walk just outside of the gate of the hut.
Samantha and her partner Donald have moved to Cumbria from the Highlands of Scotland and are enjoying life in the countryside. Samantha is a keen trail runner and with her partner grow plants on site for selling at markets and gardening events.
The hut is situated in its own garden protected by a beautiful old weeping beech tree. Your sometimes neighbours are cows grazing in the opposite field. Samantha and Donald are on site to help with anything you may need or just a friendly chat.
