The Old manse B&B is a new B&B situated along Main Street on the left in Castletown as you approach from Thurso. We have a large white conservatory/porch on the front of the house which is set back from the road. The beach is a 2 minute walk from the house and there are plenty of places that are well worth a visit for example the new stannergill whisky distillery which is only 0.5 mile away and Castletown heritage centre which is 0.4 mile away . Thurso is 6 miles from us and Wick 16 miles which are the two main towns. We have lovely large gardens, an area to sit outside, courtyard seating, the bedrooms are large and spacious with their own private bathrooms ( one with a shower and one with a bath with shower attachment) and a dressing area with the Stag room. Each room is located in its own wing and is entered from the landing/stairs via a lockable door making each room/suite completely private. Breakfast is served in the green room( dining room), menus are provided in the rooms, there is tea/coffee facilities in each room. Parking is free and private and is covered by CCTV. We give each guest a new pair of slippers upon arrival and we do ask guests to use them whilst in the house as this aids us in the maintenance of hygiene and cleanliness for all our guests so we can all enjoy the lovely setting this old manse provides hope you don’t mind, we hope you enjoy your stay with us and if there is anything you need please feel free to ask. We relocated to Scotland from Cambridgeshire this year, our intention was twofold, to leave the hustle and bustle and change our careers for a more relaxed family friendly lifestyle. We chose to open a b&b because we enjoy meeting people and chose Scotland because we love it, we love the beach (2 minutes away) we love walking and exploring, there’s so much on offer up here. We have a small dog who also loves the beach, she loves people, is very friendly and spoilt. Hope to see you soon, the door is always open.
