Commanding far-reaching views over the English Channel, the Wight Mouse Inn is peacefully located amid grassy downs just 15 minutes’ drive from Ventnor. There is a large garden and terrace with a children’s playground, and fresh seasonal dishes are served in the restaurant. Some Bedrooms at the Wight Mouse Inn come with a sea view and others with a view of St Catherine's Down (subject to availability). Decorated in bright and warm tones, each room comes with a flat-screen TV, an private bathroom and tea/coffee-making facilities. The Wight Mouse Inn features a family-run public house, offering local Isle of Wight bitters and other beverages. The inn is located in the village of Chale, a 10-minute walk from Blackgang Chine, and with spectacular coastal walks all around. The larger towns of Newport and Shanklin are both within a 20-minute drive of the inn.

The Wight Mouse Inn is a friendly, family owned free house and restaurant, situated in the quiet hamlet of Chale on the south coast of the Isle of Wight with spectacular views along the coast to the Needles and beyond. We are popular with walkers, cyclists, families and anyone wanting to explore the Island or visiting friends. There's an outdoor play area with plenty of seating for a lazy lunch in the sun or an aperitif whilst watching the beautiful sunset after a day out at Blackgang Chine. Food is served from 12 noon through to 9pm. A specials board that is full of home-cooked food that's ever changing and the more traditional fayre is on our menu. So whether you need a base for exploring the Island or a quiet get away with pleasant walks, a place to stop whilst travelling the Island we could be the place for you. Situated on the South coast of the Isle of Wight, with unbeatable ocean views, The Wight Mouse is truly an escape within an escape.
