It is built of limestone quarried from the rock that shelters it, and over 200 years later it remains “as solid as a rock.” The quarried rock face can be seen behind and to the right of the cottage. It backs on to Y Graig, a limestone nature preserve and area of ancient woodland. Until we bought the cottage nearly 60 years ago it still belonged to the family that built it whose descendants live in the village. We hope to continue this tradition. Because of its unusual, solid construction dictated by the natural rock foundations, the cottage has its quirks, like steps in odd places.
