This attractive stone-built cottage a mile from the town of Stocksbridge makes a great getaway for a couple looking to enjoy the walks and trails of this northern part of the Peaks. Stocksbridge is a town on the north-east edge of the lovely Peak District, and offers a variety of places to eat and shop, as well as a host of footpaths and bridleways to explore. Afternoon strolls can be enjoyed beside the Langsett, Broomhead and Moorhall dams, and Holmfirth, featured in Last of the Summer Wine, is close by. The longer walks and good mountain biking of the National Park are a short drive away, and visitors may even take advantage of the proximity of the M1 to venture as far afield as Sheffield, Leeds or York.
