Situated on the idyllic Porky Wright’s Smallholding in the charming village of Old Leake, Woodpecker promises a tranquil retreat amidst the beauty of rural Lincolnshire.
Woodpecker Shepherd’s Hut is a delightful retreat designed to immerse guests in the simplicity of rural life. Tastefully furnished with a comfortable double bed, a compact kitchenette, an ensuite toilet & shower, and a wood-burning stove, the hut offers a cosy and intimate setting for a romantic getaway or a peaceful retreat. Step outside onto the private deck and bask in the tranquillity of the countryside, where the soothing sounds of nature provide the perfect soundtrack for relaxation and contemplation.
Woodpecker Shepherds Hut is located on our smallholding in rural Lincolnshire within the parish of Old Leake near Boston. The hut has its own fenced paddock area and hardstanding parking for one car close by. The hut has a double bed with an ensuite toilet and shower room. It has hot water, underfloor heating and a log burner for the Autumn/Winter nights. The open plan living / sleeping area has a pull down breakfast bar, sink, fridge, oven and induction hob.
Your views will be across our smallholding. You may be lucky to see our resident woodpeckers, owls and other varied birdlife. We often see planes from nearby RAF bases flying over. We have a pub within walking distance – The Butchers Arms, and many other pubs within a short drive that offer food. We are located close to many local attractions and RSPB reserves at Frampton & Freiston.
Escorted tours around our smallholding are offered during your stay.
Boston is 20 mins away and Skegness is 40 minutes by car. Tattershall Lakes is 40 mins drive. We are not far from the Lincolnshire Wolds. Close by is Sheepgate Equestrian Centre.
Our smallholding is our home and we have built this from scratch over the last 10 years. We conservation farm rare breed pigs, keep chickens, sheep, turkeys and horses. We hope to share some of our life by hosting at the Woodpecker Shepherds Hut.
Rural yet accessible to many attractions. Boston has a varied history being home to The Pilgrim Fathers.
