Yr Hen Efail is an old quirky stone smithy which we fully renovated in 2022 to provide cosy quirky accommodation for 2 adults, 2 young children plus one dog (strict). It has a kitchenette with a fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, mini oven & hob and all the usual cooking utensils. A generous shower room and a lovely sitting room with TV (firestick) & dining area, generous sofa bed & log effect fire. A spiral staircase leads up to the gorgeous double bedroom with a vaulted pine ceiling and velux windows to watch the stars.

Richard & I enjoy walking and running with our lovely dog Rocky, we also often run competitively & love taking long bike rides in the surrounding forests. If you need any information about the local area we will do our best to help.

Yr Hen Efail is very well situated just 5 miles outside of the Snowdonia National Park. It is very close to Lake Vyrnwy, a stunning reservoir with boat & bike hire and a gorgeous cafe plus a wonderful waterfall at the far end of the lake. The amazing Powis Castle is just 20 minutes away with its acres of beautiful gardens. We are also not far from Corris mine works + craft centre, Welshpool + Llanfair light steam railway, Welshpool golf club, Elan valley dams/lakes and only 45 minutes away from the great Bala lake with many water activities to enjoy. Barmouth and Dolgellau towns have great restaurants and shops and mountains to climb such as Cadair Idris, Y garn, Rhobell Fawr, Snowdon and many more. Our holiday let can be located on the A458, easy to find on your day of arrival and allows for easy access to the areas mentioned to visit and enjoy. It is the main route through to the west for traffic and this means it can become busy at times during the holiday period. We only hope this would not deter you from choosing to stay in this beautiful part of Wales.
