The house is bright and airy, with a cheerful ambience, opening out into the lovingly tended garden. Herbs and fruit grow abundantly, and the secluded garden with several seating areas peacefully connects with nature, surrounded by mountain and sea views. The tiny village of Kapi, with only a handful of houses, no longer has full-time residents, and only the local farmers visit their small holdings from time to time, so the night sky is barely polluted by light, promising spectacular star-lit nights. Walking tracks are plentiful, and the pretty village of Salakos is only five minutes away by car.

The charming square of Salakos is the hub of the village, where locals and visitors come together in a friendly and warm atmosphere. Three tavernas and a cafe serve delicious traditional Greek food and drinks. There is a village shop which provides a great selection of fresh local produce as well as a good selection of groceries and wine, and there is a hotel nearby with a bar. There are many walking tracks around the area, which is popular with nature lovers, and the nearest beach is only ten minutes by car. Salakos is at the crossroads of many of the island's roads, making it an ideal base from which to visit all of Rhode's favourite attractions, returning at the end of the day to peace and tranquillity. Diagoras International Airport is only 23kms away, Rhodes Old Town is 41kms, and the famous Lindos Village is 48 km away. The popular holiday resorts of Faliraki, Kolympia and Afandou are a pleasant 45-minute drive, and Kallithea Springs is 43 km away.
