At Casa del Sol’s pebble floor exists an epigraphy of the year 1896. As one might expect, the original building is much older and has passed many transformations during the centuries. During the 2 year complete restoration, the structural elements under the plaster told the stories of different times and materials of construction. All works were done under the strict supervision and requirements of the Archeological authorities. A struggle to save as many aesthetic characteristics of the great past and on the same moment to allow the building to consume less energy. Today, we present you an excellent example of cultural heritage and sustainability.

Casa del Sol is in a strategic position. Its very easy to visit the old town with a pleasant walk and without searching for parking, since its 700m away from the gates of the medieval town. With easy access to highways and busses you can make your plans to explore the island carefree. Also, another advantage is that parking is easy and free. Apart from that, since one of the main reasons to visit Rhodes is the Greek cuisine you are probably at the spot in town that has the most delicious and original food within a short distance. Last, but not least supermarkets, flea markets, grocery stores, pharmacies, sweet shops, (even) post office etc. are close by.
